A report from the SOS Peru—Callao Social Center Director,
Ms. Luz Espinoza Oscanoa

Thank God we met our friends from the Ark of Love who gave their time to the girls and boys from our “Centro Social SOS Callao” with so much affection, patience and love. Rafael, Liliana, Carmen and Anibal always come full of enthusiasm to play, to organize theater activities, and to meditate with our kids despite the fact that they all live very far away.

It has been very nice to meet our friends and we pray to God that they can continue supporting us and may even travel further in the future to address the needs of our Social Programs in the Pachacutec-Ventanilla district.

One of our teacher for “Aprestamiento II” (5 year-old kids), Helen, told us that thanks to our friends of the Ark of Love, there has been many positive changes in her students. They have become more secure, free, and above, they all have developed a sense of spiritual peace.  

Let us take the example of Andrea and Miguel, a boy and a girl participating in this program:

• Andrea, 5 years old, was a very introvert and shy girl who did not like to participate in any activity with her classmates. Now we can see that she carries herself much better—she likes to participate in classroom activities, she communicates well, and above all she can express her feelings.

• Miguel, 5 years old, was a very aggressive boy who did not show any interest in group activities and did not pay attention. Now we can see that he has greatly improved his behavior—he knows how to control himself when he feels the urge to hit a classmate. He even says that he has his "Spiritual Light".

Like Andrea and Miguel, there are many other children who have changed for good and, more importantly, who now understand each person’s value and the importance of prayer.
