Chaitanya Mahaprabhu: a realized master and God-intoxicated monk of fifteenth-century India.

chakra (Sanskrit word meaning “wheel”): a spiritual center-plexus in the spinal column and brain. Derived from the root verb char, “to move”.

chaturanga (Sanskrit word meaning “four limbs”): refers to the last four limbs of the ashtanga yoga system.

chaturveda: Sanskrit word meaning the four Vedas.

chitta: Sanskrit word meaning memory. Derived from the root chit, “to be conscious”.

coccygeal center: the muladhara chakra located in the bottom center, corresponding to the earth element.

Confucius (551-479 B.C.E.). Westernized transliteration of Kong Fu-Zi, a teacher, scholar. After his demise and to this day, he became China's most influential philosopher and political reformer. His philosophy is based on worship of the ancestors, and the study of the ancient classics. He  promoted social harmony based on the moral obligations between individuals and social systems.

creation: variously referred to as God's "dream", God's "song", or God's play in various mystical traditions. In Hinduism, two Upanishads in particular refer to the divine intention in creation: the Aitareya (1:1:1) and the Brihadaranyaka (1:4:1).
