Virtually every religious and spiritual tradition have described holy mountains where a transmission of spiritual knowledge or a divine revelation took place. These holy mountains were perceived to be more than geographical places of spiritual grace, but also metaphors of the spiritual path.
Symbolically speaking, the human body is like a mountain. Just as rivers are
born in the eternal glaciers in mountain tops, the life-force of every human
being is born from above, in the fontanel—the soft spot at the top of the head
of newborn babies. This is the entry point of the soul into its fleshy abode.
In the Holy Bible, in his discussion with Nicodemus, Jesus had explained,
“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:4).
How to be reborn, then? The answer is given in John 8:23, where Lord Jesus
explained “Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am
not of this world.” Thus to be reborn spiritually means that one must come
from above, i.e. in the fontanel, the top of our spiritual mountain.
