Aaron
“Alas, my lord, I beseech you, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done
foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.” |

Aaron (circa 13th century BCE) was Moses' and Miryam’s elder brother. After the revelation of the Burning Bush on Mount Sinai, he became the spokesperson of his brother Moses in carrying out God Ten Warnings to the Pharaoh.

Ordained by God, Aaron was the first high priest in the history of Israel, and the founder of the priest dynasty (cohanim). His name could mean "high mountain", "exalted", or, according to other scholars, "light", "enlightened."
