Mechthild
of Magdeburg (1212-1282). She had profound communion with God from an
early age. At age twenty she took her religious vows as a Beguine.
She later wrote an account of her revelations in a book called
The Flowing Light of the Godhead,
which she attributes as coming solely from God.
