Castalian Spring

The Castalian Spring of Delphi is in the ravine of the Phaedriades on the imposing south side of the sacred mountain Parnassus. It was a place of inspiration for Greek and Roman poets and was said to have been created when the winged-horse Pegasus struck the ground with his hoof.

It is near the complex of buildings which includes the Temple of Apollo from where the oracle at Delphi pronounced, and the sacred Corycian Cave.
