Chalice Well

Chalice Well at Glastonbury has been in constant use for over 2000 years and was used by prehistoric tribes.  There is also a pool known in King Arthur’s court yard where pilgrims come to bathe after passing the sacred Yew tree.  Two hundred years ago the pool was deep enough for complete immersion.  The waters are known for their healing properties and the well area is dedicated to the Earth Mother.  People drink the waters from the Lion’s Head fountain that is at the foot of Glastonbury Tor.
