Self-Study Course

We are each composing our own story. Scriptures are hints as to the direction of the divine plot. To become the hero of your own story, we must study the inner meaning of the scriptures regularly.

This is a simple model of systematic self-study, based on the ancient religions' model. You may follow it literally, or use it as a basis for designing your own study course.

Suggested Study Plan

Please make a commitment to devote ½ to 2 hours daily, as per your capacity, to scriptural study.

A minimum daily routine would be to:

- Read one chapter from the scripture of your own religion (Bible, or Koran, or Bhagavad Gita, or Dhammapada,  etc.)

- Contemplate the meaning of a verse of a sacred text, meditate, and then write down its metaphorical meaning as it was revealed to you. Without the regular, sincere practice of meditation, you will never realize the metaphorical meaning of scriptures. If you find discrepancies between the text and your interpretation, write them down and bring them to the attention of your teacher for discussion and clarification. Do not engage in useless arguments or controversies with others.

- Read the biographies and sayings of great saints and realized masters from time to time.
